Herkimer “Diamonds” are only found in this small part of the world. And the ones at Crystal Grove are different than the ones down the road- younger- only 450,000 million years as opposed to 500,000 million years and they formed in dirt and stone, not in solution.

Looks like a small gravel pit; we paid our money, grabbed our tools and off we went. Clare smashed big rocks- just like a little kid. Linda scoured the ground picking up diamonds just sitting there like shells on a beach. We didn’t find anything worth any money, but we had a blast and found a few nice crystals.
